Thanks to Derek for dropping this one off. ‘Tis the season and this one doesn’t disappoint. Deep malt and slight coffee on the nose and black patent and chocolate at first taste. More carbonation than I’m used to with this style. Just enough hop bite to keep it interesting. Mellows as it warms, with the alcohol beginning to sneak through.
Taste: B+. True to the style, only the carbonation seemed off.
Drinkability: B. Too much alcohol for this to get much more here.
Vital Stats: 9% ABV, served 45F in a pint glass.
