For the second year in a row, Sean Lawson (Lawson’s Finest Liquids) has collaborated with Russ Fitzpatrick and Tommy Noonan of Vermont Pub and Brewery on one of my favorite oddball beers to date: their Spruce Tip IPA.
It smells like a Christmas tree in a bottle, and although pine is the dominant flavor, there’s citrus and caramel to balance it out. It’s solid, refreshing, and very different. I really love discovering beers that forge their own path (another favorite is Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale).
If you’re in the mood for a great IPA and want to mix it up a bit and shake up your palette, this is the beer for you.
